2021 Fantasy Outlook
It was a roller coaster season for most prospects, but particularly for Bishop, the No. 10 overall pick in 2019. He missed all of summer camp and was a late arrival to the alternate site after getting COVID-19, but made up for lost time during the fall instructional league. Bishop had an OPS north of 1.000 during instructs, finishing second on the team in at-bats behind uber-prospect Marco Luciano. He legged out plenty of doubles and triples -- a sign that he is still a plus runner. The 6-foot-5 lefty-hitting outfielder has the power and speed to go 30/20 at his peak, and his walk rates portend high OBPs. The big question is how much contact he will make and where his batting average will settle. Given his speed and exit velocities, he should run high BABIPs, which is a nice place to start. He could spend most of his age-22/23 season at Double-A, despite having never played at Low-A or High-A. Read Past Outlooks

ANALYSIS
The 23-year-old has had a frustrating season -- Bishop has been limited to 16 minor-league games due to injuries. He's slashing .133/.286/.178 with zero home runs, one stolen base and 21:8 K:BB in 45 at-bats. Bishop has not played above High-A and this lost developmental time has hurt his prospect stock.

2020 Fantasy Outlook
In most MLB drafts, the college hitter with the best collection of tools typically comes with questions about how much he will hit, otherwise he would have never made it to college. Bishop was that player from the 2019 class. A 6-foot-5, 210-pound physical specimen with 70-grade raw power and plus speed, Bishop produces elite exit velocities at the dish and may be able to handle center field. So far, he seems as advertised. He hit .229 with a 26.0 BB%, 26.7 K%, five home runs and eight steals in 32 games between the AZL and Northwest League. His flyball rate was over 50%, which is something he will need to dial back -- only Rhys Hoskins (50.4 FB%) was over 50% among qualified MLB hitters. Fortunately for OBP and points leagues, his walk rate portends a high floor in those formats, but his eventual batting average remains a potential weakness in standard leagues.
