Spurs Host Warriors on Sunday
The San Antonio Spurs play host to the Golden State Warriors at Frost Bank Center on Sunday.

The Warriors (39-34) will have to close the year strong to hold off the Houston Rockets for the 10-seed in the West. Houston is the hottest team in the NBA, having won 11 straight games. That has them just one game back of the Warriors for the final Play-In spot in the Western Conference, and Golden State hasn't really looked confident at any point this season. With that said, they come into this matchup winning three straight, beating the Charlotte Hornets on Friday in their most recent outing. That's a team Golden State was expected to beat, and it'll be interesting to see if they can keep that streak going with only nine games remaining.

The Spurs (18-56) have the worst record in the Western Conference, but this is a team no one wants to play. That was on full display when they grabbed a 130-126 overtime win over the New York Knicks on Friday. Victor Wembanyama showed why he's one of the most prized rookies of all time, finishing with a career-high 40 points. He also added 20 rebounds and seven assists, which doesn't even take into consideration that he leads the league with nearly 3.5 blocks per game as well. We've never seen a talent like this come into the league, and he could truly change things for this Spurs franchise. This might be the worst version we see of Wemby and he's still one of the best players in the NBA.

This is the fourth matchup between these teams, with Golden State winning two of three. The Warriors have won six of their last seven games over the Spurs in total.
