Pelicans Stun Nuggets In Denver
The New Orleans Pelicans defeated the host Denver Nuggets, 113-105, at Ball Arena on Friday night.

The contest got out to a competitive start as the Nuggets led, 29-27, after one quarter. The hosts held the edge for most of the second, but the Pelicans cut it to a one-point game, by halftime. Neither team could break away in the third and the score was tied at 82, heading into the final frame. The Pelicans led by three points with three minutes left, and they closed the game on a, 10-5, run to secure their second straight win, while this marks the third straight loss for the Nuggets.

Herbert Jones led the Pelicans with 25 points on 8-of-10 shooting, in 34 minutes. Brandon Ingram followed up with 23 points, four rebounds, 12 assists, two blocks and a steal, while Jaxson Hayes added 22 points, 11 rebounds, a steal and a block. The Pelicans shot 56 percent from the field, including 8-of-25 from long range.

Meanwhile, Nikola Jokic led the Nuggets with 25 points, 12 rebounds, nine assists and two steals, in 35 minutes. Monte Morris followed up with 19 points, four assists and a block, while Will Barton tallied 17 points, four rebounds, two assists, three steals and a block. The Nuggets shot 45 percent from the field, including 19-of-41 from long range.

The Nuggets (28-24) will look to bounce back as they play host to the Nets on Sunday. The Pelicans (20-32) take on the Rockets in Houston on Sunday.
