Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary

Ty-Shon Alexander was born July 16, 1998 in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is the son of Eric and Tina Alexander and has one brother, Rodjrick. As a kid, Ty-Shon's favorite activity was fishing with his father, Eric. Alexander started his high school playing days at Concord High School in Concord, North Carolina. As a sophomore he transferred to Northside Christian Academy in Charlotte. Then, as a junior, he transferred to Oak Hill Academy in Virginia, where he scored 50 points in one game as a senior. Alexander then chose to attend Creighton University from 2017 to 2020, where he earned First Team All-Big East honors after his junior college season. While at Creighton, Alexander was a social work major with a minor in criminal justice. He's also a fan of Kevin Hart and is a big Carolina Panthers supporter. Fans can follow the former Blue Jay on Twitter @5Tyshon. Alexander attended Creighton University from 2017 to 2020. As a freshman, the North Carolina native split time between point guard and shooting guard and posted 5.5 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. Alexander was a full-time starter as a sophomore and led the Bluejays with 534 points, 41 steals and 97 three-pointers in 34 starts while adding 4.0 rebounds per contest. He also earned Honorable Mention All-Big East honors. Then, in the summer of 2019, Alexander was a member of USA Basketball at the Pan Games, helping the US squad win a bronze medal. As a junior, Alexander delivered 16.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game during the COVID-19 shortened 2019-20 season. Those stats led to Alexander being named a Third Team All-American (USA Today) and a First Team All-Big East member. As a standout defender, Alexander and Kyle Korver are the only players in Creighton history to lead the team in both scoring and steals in two consecutive seasons. Alexander then declared himself eligible for the 2020 NBA Draft.
