DFS College Basketball: Sunday Preview

DFS College Basketball: Sunday Preview

This article is part of our DFS College Basketball series.

Sunday brings a six game slate on DraftKings, hosting their $10 Big Jam Contest with $4K up for grabs including $1K to first. FanDuel has its own five game slate, with all five games overlapping the main slate on DraftKings. The slate features two teams in the AP top-25, including a matchup with a 152.5 implied total between Iowa and Minnesota. Let's get on to the action.

Top Players

Kenneth Lofton, F, Louisiana Tech ($9,000 DK)

Lofton often puts the Bulldogs on his shoulders, averaging 16.1 points, 10.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists for 36.5 DK points this season. He has scored at least 22 DK points, including games of 52 and 67.3. The forward has a massive 32.1 percent usage rate, the highest on the slate. Besides the consistent double digit scoring, Lofton has 45 rebounds over his last four games. His high ceiling/boom potential makes him a great play even with his high salary.

Isaih Moore, F, Southern Miss ($6,600 DK)

Moore provides consistent fantasy value despite coming off the bench. He averages 12.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.1 blocks in 14 games this season. The forward has at least 24.3 DK points in the last three contests, including 26.3 DK points in just 16 minutes in a 33-point blowout loss. As long as he gets around his average of 26 minutes, he is consistent at producing around 25+ DK points. The Golden Eagles will need Moore to step up on both sides of the ball against the high-scoring Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.

Middle Tier

Bryce Nze, F, Butler ($6,500 DK, $5,900 FD)

Nze has only played in eight games this season due to injuries. However, he leads the Bulldogs in playing time and has been on the court at least 32 minutes in each of the last three games. In those games, he scored at least 31 DK points twice. He is averaging 10.5 points and 5.8 rebounds over his last four contests. They are 15 point underdogs against Villanova, but that hasn't affected his ability to score well before. He should have plenty of playing time to rack up points and rebounds. He provides an even better value on FanDuel.

Eylijah Stephens, G/F, Minnesota ($6,000 DK, $5,400 FD)

There are plenty of people to choose from in this game that is projected for 152.5 points. Stephens is an intriguing choice, especially with the added possibility of teammate Eric Curry (ankle) missing the game. He is averaging 33.5 minutes on the floor this season and could be relied on even more if Curry is ultimately ruled out. The senior is coming off his best game of the season against Michigan State, posting 18 points, six rebounds and four assists for 33.5 DK points. He is one of three Gophers that average double digit scoring and he should have plenty offensive opportunities in this game.

Value Plays

Cobe Williams, G, Louisiana Tech ($5,900 DK)

Williams has been as consistent as it gets lately, scoring between 25.3 and 35.3 DK points in each of the last five games. At his current value he's been a sure bet to produce 4x-6x his salary. He plays the second most minutes (29.7) and has the second highest usage rate (23 percent) on the team while scoring 13.6 points over the last 10 games. In addition, he's drained 15 three-pointers in the last five games. The Bulldogs are 12.5-point favorites with a 75.5 projected total, which will provide plenty of scoring opportunities for Williams.

Bo Hodges, G/F, Butler ($3,500 DK, $4,300 FD)

Hodges provides a unique opportunity as someone who just made his season debut on Jan. 13 and is only $3,500. He is a risky play since Butler is slowly easing him back, however, he posted 15.3 DK points in just 11 minutes in his debut. The guard should receive more minutes Sunday against Villanova. He is a good rebounding guard, averaging 8.2 points and six rebounds per game last season. He totaled seven boards in his limited time against Georgetown. The Bulldogs will need him to provide key minutes off the bench against a solid Villanova team.
