Past Fantasy Outlooks
2021
2019
Emezie has been a fixture in the Wolfpack’s passing game in each of the last three years on campus, and 2021 should be no different. He’s caught between 47 and 56 balls in all three years, seeing at least 75 targets in each season. Last year offered glimpse of more playmaking ability, as he posted a career-high 15.7 yards per catch despite a constant shuffling at quarterback, using his 6-foot-3 frame to make plays downfield. Oddly, that big frame hasn’t made him a huge red zone target, scoring just 12 times over the last three season. So long as Devin Leary stays healthy, Emezie figures to have the best quarterback play he’s since assuming the team’s No. 1 receiver role. If he can work his way towards 60-65 catches, there’s room for nice statistical growth and the best season of his career.
Jakobi Meyers and Kelvin Harmon accounted for 50 percent of the Wolfpack's targets and 55 percent of the team's receiving yards in 2018. Both are now in the NFL. That's a lot of production to be redistributed, and Emezie is the top candidate to take on a major role for the Wolfpack. Of course, he'll be working with a new quarterback after the steady Ryan Finley's departure, but that doesn't change the fact that Emezie should be the team's top target by a fair margin. The 6-3, 210 Emezie is a big-bodied target who posted encouraging production behind NC State's dynamic duo in 2018, catching 47 of 70 targets for 580 yards and five touchdowns. As long as North Carolina State's quarterback play doesn't completely fall off a cliff, Emezie will be positioned to be one of the top fantasy receivers in the ACC and the Power 5 as a whole.
