Ends time in college
December 30, 2021
Harris announced Thursday via his personal Twitter account that he'll forgo his remaining eligibility to enter the 2022 NFL Draft.
ANALYSIS
Harris' decision to leave school early comes shortly after he amassed 182 yards and a touchdown on 31 carries in South Carolina's 38-21 win over North Carolina in the Duke's Mayo Bowl. Prior to the contest, fellow running back ZaQuandre White opted out of the game to begin preparations for the draft, so the Gamecocks will tentatively head into 2022 with MarShawn Lloyd and Juju McDowell as the top options on the depth chart. Expect South Carolina to look to the transfer portal to fortify the position following the departure of Harris, who led the team in rushing in both of the past two seasons.

2021 Fantasy Outlook
Harris was one of the few bright spots in a tough season for the Gamecocks. Touted freshman MarShawn Lloyd was expected to come in and win the job but suffered an injury, leaving SC to turn it over to Harris, who never looked back. Harris (5-10, 225) steamrolled his way to 1,138 yards and 15 touchdowns, averaging 6.2 YPC, and his 113.8 YPG was actually tops in the SEC, ahead of Najee Harris. South Carolina is starting from scratch and Lloyd is too talented not to be a factor if healthy, but Harris has earned top billing in this backfield and is still a force for fantasy.
