Stevens announced Monday via his personal Twitter account that he committed to West Virginia, joining the program as a transfer from FCS Maine.

Stevens, an incoming redshirt senior, will make the jump to the FBS ranks for his final year of eligibility. After Maine postponed its 2020 season to the spring, the linebacker led the Black Bears with 36 tackles in the shortened four-game campaign. He missed all but one game of the 2019 season due to injury, but Stevens was highly productive for Maine in a full slate of 14 games in 2018, logging 120 stops and nine sacks. The addition of Stevens should help West Virginia compensate for the loss of the team's top tackler from 2020, Tony Fields.
