Loses belt at Bellator 301
WelterweightBellator
November 20, 2023
Amosov lost his Bellator Welterweight Championship to Jason Jackson via TKO (punches) at 2:08 of Round 3 at Bellator 301 on Friday in Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Amosov entered this fight considered to be one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the promotion, as well as roughly (-550) betting favorite, but he simply didn't look the part here. None of his takedowns were landing, and he was far from dominant when the two exchanged strikes in the pocket. In fact, prior to the stoppage, two of the three judges had scored Round 1 for Jackson, and all three of them gave the challenger Round 2. To put it frankly, this was no fluke outcome by any means. The future now remains unclear for Amosov following Monday's announcement that Bellator has been acquired by another promotion, the PFL. Amosov could be quite popular on the proposed international events the brand intends to put on, and he could also represent a serious contender for the league's 170-pound tournament.

Dominates Lima to take belt
WelterweightBellator
June 16, 2021
Amosov defeated Douglas Lima via unanimous decision (50-45, 49-46, 49-46) to become the new Bellator Welterweight Champion at Bellator 260 on June 11 at Mohegan Sun Arena.
ANALYSIS
Amosov showed excellent stand-up defense against a dangerous striker, completely neutralizing the offense of the now-former champion. As a combat sambo world champion, Amosov also put his grappling to work, completing a takedown in all five rounds en route to a clean sweep on the scorecards. It wasn't the most fan-friendly fight, but Amosov did just enough from top position to stop the ref from intervening upon his well-executed game plan. With seemingly little damage taken in this one, Amosov could be in line to make his first defense in the near future.
