Retires following UFC 276 defeat
FlyweightUFC
July 2, 2022
Eye lost to Maycee Barber via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 27-30) at UFC 276 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Eye left her gloves in the Octagon and retired after the loss. In this fight, as was the case for nearly her entire UFC run, Eye simply didn't possess the technical skill or all-around offensive arsenal to consistently threaten her opposition. She kept Barber pinned to the fence for long stretches at a time, but did nothing with her positional advantage. Eye proved to be plenty tough and a decent boxer, but any halfway decent opponent would force her to move her feet, and Eye would struggle thereafter. The soon-to-be 36-year-old Ohio native finishes her time with the company with a 5-10 (1NC) mark in 16 bouts.
