Sixers Close Out Third Straight Win
The Philadelphia 76ers defeated visiting Los Angeles Lakers 105-87, at Wells Fargo Center on Thursday evening.

The Sixers jumped out to a good start with a, 32-22, lead after one quarter. The Lakers came out stronger in the second, but the hosts maintained control and took a six-point lead into the break The Sixers reestablished dominance through the third quarter, where they outscored the Lakers by 14 points, to take a 20-point lead into the final frame. The scoring slowed down in the fourth, but the visitors could not make any progress, as the 76ers closed out their third straight win.

Joel Embiid led the 76ers with 26 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and a steal, in 35 minutes. Tobias Harris followed up with 23 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals, while Tyrese Maxey logged 14 points, seven rebounds, 10 assists and two blocks. The Sixers shot 50 percent from the field, including 13-of-35 from long range.

Meanwhile, Anthony Davis led the Lakers with 31 points, 12 rebounds, four blocks and two steals, in 34 minutes. Russell Westbrook followed up with 20 points, four rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block, while Malik Monk chipped in 11 points, four rebounds, five assists and two steals. The Lakers shot 41 percent from the field, including 6-of-29 from deep.

The Lakers (24-25) will look to bounce back as they take on the Hornets in Charlotte on Friday. The 76ers (29-19) play host to the Kings on Saturday.
